"Robin's Song"
Robin, dealing with loss and anxiety, leaves Brooklyn to come to live in a small Vermont town with her cousin Darcey.
Through nature, music and poetry, the tweens bond, while Robin learns skills
to deal with her emotions.
The story begins...
"The sun had just started setting when Darcey heard the car pulling into her driveway lined with glowing yellow and orange daylilies. She knew it had to be her cousin Robin! Only the week before, they had been together at Robin’s mom’s funeral in a stone church in Brooklyn, just a few blocks from where Robin
and her mother lived.
With a big smile, Darcey ran over and pulled open the front
door of the 4-wheel-drive station wagon."
Praise for Robin's Song
Lynn Levine has written a story about how people care for each other, and the role of the natural world in healing human wounds. 'Robin's Song' is about many homes-places built or found, social or solitary-that act as partners in life's challenges. In its naturalist precision and emotional intelligence, this Vermont story is tangible, warm and hopeful.

In 'Robin's Song,' author and naturalist Lynn Levine intertwines the metaphor of the actual song of the robin with the story of the ups and downs of her main character. Lynn's story teaches children the importance of nature to their psychological well-being.
